VOLENTEER IN R.S.S.
In 1934 he entered Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Today he is well known volunteer. From 1936-60 he took charge of 'Ghash Vibhag'. In the year 1986 he participated in March-past on the eve of Vijayadashami. He was working for more than65 years in Sangli Pariwar. As a result he has a habit of doing every work neatly and on time and with discipline. This multidimensional personality remained aloof from any type of adeptness.
Bhau is also a gook swimmer. Since 1950 Bhau trained hundreds of Children Swimming during monsoon to winter. He continued this activity for 25 years. It did not affect Chess or it's training.
In 1948 after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi there was much havoc and everything was set on fire. The house of Bhurao was no exception. Bhau was imprisoned for 8-10 months.
THE ACTIVE MEMBER OF INSTITUTIONS
Bhau was the active member in the following institutions-
1) Sangli Shikshan Santha - E. C. member 1970 to 1975
2) Shri Adi Balbhim Vyayamshala - 1990 to 1995
3) Shri Shiv Pratishtan Sangli City President - 1984 to 1985
4) Lokmanya Tilak Smarak Mandir - Member 1964
5) Nutan Buddhibal Mandal, Sangli - Secretary 1950 to 1996
6) Southern Maratha Chess Association Secretary 1955 to 1990
On 4th July 2000 Bhau completed his 81 years. Even today he has been arranging competitions and also training the players.
HONOURABLE PRIZES
1) FIE Foundation Ichalkarnji has honored Bhaurao by Hon. Former Prime Minister Chandrashekhar in 1991.
2) In June 1991 he was awarded Shiv Chatrapati Krida Karyakarta Puraskar by Maharashtra Govt. by former Chef Minister Hon. Sudhakarji Naik.
3) Maharashtra Govt. honored him with the biggest honor for trained Dadoji Kondev Puraskar by Hon. Mrs. Akkamma Alexander in 1997.
PLACE FOR MANDAL
The people in Sangli honored Bhaurao for 'Dadoji Kondev Puraskar' in the program. Hon Vice. Chief Minister Shri. Gopinathji Mundhe was present at that programe. Hon. Minister assured to give place for the Mandal. Now the Government of Maharashtra has offered a place to Mandal. The place is front of new Railway Station. The necessary deal is completed Bhau thanked the Government.
